Dr Ben Helliwell

I’m Ben, a qualified Clinical Psychologist with a passion for helping people understand themselves, their challenges, and the patterns that affect their wellbeing. My approach is guided by a collaborative and personalised way of working that focuses on you—your experiences, your thoughts, your feelings, and your goals.

Rather than using a “one-size-fits-all” method, I work with each client to create a clear, structured understanding of what’s contributing to your difficulties and what can help you move forward. Together, we explore the factors that maintain challenges, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and develop strategies that are tailored to your unique situation.

In sessions, I bring together ideas from different therapeutic approaches — including cognitive-behavioural and humanistic perspectives — but I always adapt them to fit you, rather than the other way around. My goal is to offer a warm, reflective space where you can make sense of your experiences, gain new perspectives, and discover practical ways to move forward.

Whether you are dealing with anxiety, low mood, stress, or life transitions, I’m here to support you in building insight, resilience, and lasting solutions that fit your life.

If you’re ready to take the first step toward understanding yourself better and creating positive change, I would be honoured to work with you.
