Supervision

Supervision is a space to reflect on your practice and learn. It provides an array of people in the mental health profession the opportunity to grow their clinical skills.

At Taproot Psychology we offer supervision to qualified counsellors, counselling psychologists, clinical psychologist, trainee psychologists or counsellors, support workers, and other mental health professionals.

We provide supervision using a trauma-informed lens. This can be face-to-face or online.

We, Taproot Psychology, believe that self-care and personal reflection is an essential part of supervision spaces. If you are looking for a supervision experience that balances the development of clinical skills with reflective practice contact us.

Group supervision is available on request.

Here is what one supervisee said about her experience of working with our founder, Dr Kelly Savery

"During my professional doctoral training, I was supervised by Dr Kelly Savery (Counselling Psychologist) who has extensive knowledge and experience of working and supervising in trauma informed modalities. Within this supervisory relationship, I was able to observe and learn first-hand the skills of supervising on a relational level - delicately bringing into the room, the complex and intricate processes pertaining to 'the self' of the therapist, alongside the client. The quality of supervision I received, supplemented my prior knowledge and experience of working with trauma and other complex presentations but more importantly, I was able to trust my prior learning and skills and put them effectively into practice. The trust and autonomy provided by Kelly facilitated me in developing into a confident and conscientious practitioner, able to take on responsibly, work that is complex and challenging. Supervision was not only limited to therapeutic processes, it was also utilised to explore the intersectional elements of our 'selves' that implicate the systems within and around us, as practitioners of colour. I found this experience extremely stimulating and valuable both for my personal and professional development".
